Job Purpose:
The Cloud Operations Lead is responsible for managing and optimizing cloud environments, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions while supporting business continuity through proactive operations management. This role demands expertise in cloud architecture, security best practices, and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological advancements.

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud solutions to meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
Ensure cloud architectures are aligned with industry standards and best practices for efficiency and effectiveness.
Continuously evaluate and modernize existing cloud solutions to leverage the latest technologies and innovations.
Manage daily cloud operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization.
Coordinate regularly with development teams in a DevOps model to foster a continuous integration environment.
Provide direct support to cloud users for failures, performance issues, and connectivity problems.
Conduct problem management reviews to identify known issues and implement corrective actions.
Utilize scripting (PowerShell, Perl) for cloud operations to enhance efficiency.
Automate processes cautiously to reduce manual work and improve team performance.
Create efficient automated deployment workflows supporting development through testing and staging deployments.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Linux OS, monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting issues in cloud solutions and virtual environments using native or third-party tools.
Implement and review dashboards, system/application logs, and custom monitoring tools.
Develop and maintain operational documentation, including runbooks, SOPs, and system diagrams.
Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting for technical issues.
Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk mitigation strategies for cloud environments.
Develop and implement cloud cost optimization strategies to ensure efficient resource utilization and budget adherence.
Conduct regular cost analysis, reporting, and forecasting for cloud expenditures. - Identify and eliminate underutilized resources while recommending effective scaling strategies.
Act as a key technical advisor for solution design and deployment across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure seamless cloud service integration.
Provide technical mentorship and training to internal teams, enhancing overall cloud competency within the organization.
Drive and solve problems impacting critical security systems and implement automation to prevent recurrence.
Keep stakeholders updated on relevant areas and new technologies.
Provide necessary technical expertise and advice regarding the development and execution of all in-house applications subject to cloud readiness.
Collaborate with developers, management, and vendors to ensure secure applications are deployed, achieving all business objectives.
The Person:
BSc in IT/Engineering or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field.
Proven experience in leading cloud operations, solution design, and implementation in a multi-cloud or hybrid environment.
Expertise in major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks, tools, and compliance standards.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Proficiency in cloud monitoring and management tools.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent.
ITIL or equivalent certification in service management is a plus.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
