Assistant Engineer – Radio Network Planning (Regional Planning – Western)

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and technically driven Assistant Engineer – Radio Network Planning to support regional network planning and optimisation activities within the Western region. This role is critical in ensuring superior network coverage, capacity, and quality of service across 2G, 3G, and 4G technologies, while delivering effective solutions to customer and network-related challenges.

The Job

  • Analyse and resolve access network-related customer complaints with a strong focus on root cause identification.
  • Conduct field visits and perform drive tests, application testing, and VIP analysis to identify service issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve network service quality and reduce complaint volumes.
  • Ensure adherence to divisional SLAs and high-quality service standards.
  • Design and deliver cost-effective engineering solutions aligned with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Coordinate with Network Planning, Operations, and Field Support teams for seamless solution delivery.
  • Perform end-to-end service verification and ensure effective customer closure.
  • Support coverage and capacity planning based on complaint trends and regional business requirements.
  • Contribute to site planning, feasibility studies (JFS), and capacity enhancement initiatives.
  • Analyse customer experience trends and recommend innovative improvements using new technologies and tools.
  • Monitor and improve regional network performance and Quality of Service (QoS).
  • Support network optimisation initiatives and feature trials to enhance service quality.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and manage trouble tickets for timely resolution.
Entry Requirements

The Person

  • BSc in Engineering (Telecommunications / Electronics / Electrical / Computer) from a recognized university OR Equivalent qualifications (AMIE, B.Tech, HNDE/NDT/NDES/NVQ Level 5 or similar)
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply (Bachelor’s degree holders)
  • OR minimum 2 years of relevant experience (for degree holders)
  • OR minimum 6 years of experience (for diploma/NVQ qualification holders)
  • Knowledge of radio access technologies and network optimisation fundamentals
  • Familiarity with radio planning and optimisation tools
  • Experience with network monitoring systems (Huawei, Ericsson, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with tools such as MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau
  • Basic project management capabilities
